Happy Spring my friends and hope you all are having a good week. I am heading out of town to Santa Fe and Ojo Caliente this weekend for a little R&R. If you haven't been to either I highly recommend, especially for any of you southwestern decor lovers!
With spring here who doesn't love to do a deep cleaning of their spaces?! Here are some of my favorite (green) home hacks that you can incorporate into your spring home cleanse.
1. Use an old toothbrush to clean your electronics and get that dirt out of your keyboard!
2. Did you know that Coca-Cola can wash away those dirty stains in your toilet bowl? Just pour a can (or two) into your toilet so it fully coats the bowl. Let it sit, while you read your favorite magazine and let the acids in the soda do the work! Scrub away debris with a toilet brush and voilà.
3. DIY room spray - Head to your nearest Whole Foods Market and find your favorite essential oils. I personally love anything citrus, but have fun exploring and leaning about the different varieties. Get a glass spray bottle, fill it with distilled water* and add 10-20 drops of your selected oil. Less is more with essential oils, so start small and you can always add more if you need to.
*Don't have distilled water? DIY - Boil a pot of water until it reaches boiling point. Turn off stove and set water aside to cool down. Once it has cooled down (15-20 minutes) you can add your oil and transfer into the spray bottle. I use this method for my humidifier and clothing steamer.
4. If you aren't currently buying drying sheets, add them to your next shop! Not only do they help with eliminating static, but they can be used in so many other ways! Cleaning electronics, blinds, and more has never been so simple. Don't have time to clean, but want a fresh smelling pad? Stick a dryer sheet to your box fan. The static cling will attach and release a clean smell into your room.
