Beni Ourain Wool Floor Cushion

Beni Ourain Wool Floor Cushion

Handmade from vintage Moroccan Beni Ourain tribe wool rugs, these cushions bring a modern bohemian vibe to any space.  The Beni Ourain people who wove these rugs believed that the carpets would ward off evil spirits.  Designers incorporated elements and lucky charms to bring luck and prosperity to its owner.  Add a cushion to any room for extra seating or pair with a statement chair for a one-of-a-kind ottoman.  They also make great pet beds!  Each cushion is uniquely made and numbered by collection.

Please note: Due to the handmade production of these cushions, some may have slight imperfections in the wool.  This is not considered a defect and adds charm to each handcrafted piece.

BENI OURAIN Moroccan Tribe

The Beni Ourain Tribe has a long history of weaving some of the most beautiful rugs in the world.  For thousands of years, the women of the tribe have woven exquisite hand knotted wool rugs inspired by tribal ceremony and symbolism. The tribe still exists today, living in the High Atlas mountain regions of Morocco, where the ancient weaving techniques, which date back to the 7th Century,  are preserved and passed down from mother to daughter.  The traditional style and patterns of the Beni Ouarain rugs consists of mostly geometric black or brown lines that create abstract and diamond shapes on a cream or whitish background.
